By coincidence, Acme Sound Partners provided the Sound Design for the first Production in the new Hall-- the Roundabout Theatre Revival of Bye Bye Birdie. In our view, the new venue is a welcome addition to Broadway with excellent acoustics ideally suited to subtle sound reinforcement, and a spacious mix position where you can actually hear the PA! Perhaps unsurprisingly, we found that the new backstage communications and Assistive Listening Systems worked perfectly!
API was sub-contracted by Fred Geller Electric to engineer, fabricate, & supervise the installation of backstage intercom, CCTV, show program & paging equipment and infrared Assistive Listening Systems designed by Jaffe Holden Acoustics.
Broadway’s newest venue, Henry’s Miller’s Theatre (re-christened The Stephen Sondheim in March 2010) at the base of the Bank of America Tower on West 43rd Street east of 7th Avenue, has a facade from 1918-- but inside it is a brand spanking new, LEED certified, comfortable 1,055 seat musical theatre Hall.
